As members of the American Massage Therapy Associaton (AMTA), the massage therapists of Lavande, hereby pledge to abide by the AMTA code of ethics outlined below. 

  1. Demonstrate commitment to provide the highest quality massage therapy/bodywork to those who seek their professional service.

  2. Acknowledge the inherent worth and individuality of each person by not discriminating or behaving in any prejudicial manner with clients and/or colleagues.

  3. Demonstrate professional excellence through regular self-assessment of strengths, limitations and effectiveness by continued education and training.

  4. Acknowledge the confidential nature of the professional relationship with clients and respect each client’s right to privacy within the constraints of the law.

  5. Project a professional image and uphold the highest standards of professionalism.

  6. Accept responsibility to do no harm to the physical, mental and emotional well-being of self, clients and associates.

All staff must adhere by Lavande code of conduct as outlined below. 

  1. Treat each client and their home sanctuary with respect and dignity.

  2. Conduct all business and professional activities within their scope of practice and all applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

  3. Refrain from engaging in any sexual conduct or sexual activities involving their clients in the course of a massage therapy session.

  4. Maintain professional boundaries and standards and refrain from any alcohol, cigarettes, mind-altering drugs, or other intoxicants prior to and during any professional services.

  5. Maintain clear communication with clients, maintain client's privacy and confidentiality with regards to health and personal information, and abide by all HIPAA regulations.

All clients of Lavande must adhere to Lavande's code of conduct 

  1. Treat each therapist with courtesy and dignity and respect professional boundaries by refraining from inappropriate comments or behavior.

  2. Provide current and accurate health information and past history. Inform Lavande when medical changes occur.

  3. Maintain clear communication with your health care provider if you are under the care of a physician or physical therapist and inform him/her that you receive massage therapy. {In some cases written medical consent is required prior to massage services.}

  4. Maintain clear communication about expectations, preferences, or concerns with your therapist.

  5. Maintain a clean, smoke free, and safe environment for the treatment.

  6. Adequate room must be provided for the equipment as well as a clear path to treatment area.

  7. Parking must be available and cleared of snow or debris.
